Muscovy keepers share your pics!

My babies are a week old now and are getting huge. Can't believe they are doing so good even the little girl I had to spend 3 days nursing to get her back to health. Their colors are starting to change too. They are all so gorgeous and absolute loves. We had our first peas tonight and they liked them but said they liked the bugs more. They were chasing them around the pen gobbling them up.

Adorable!

About what age should I be able to start seeing a difference between males and females? We have 5 ducklings, 2 of them are 8 weeks old, the other 2 are 7. We are planning on sending the males to freezer camp, and apparently optimal slaughter time is around 12-14 weeks. The sooner the better for me, I'm starting to get pretty attached to all of them.

I was able to tell the difference between male and females about 2 months. Size is the big tell all. The smaller end up being the females. At three months, the females can already fly. My males are still grounded...they do a lot of flapping and standing on the tips of their webbed feet, but nothing more. My female at three months is already starting to roost. My males are still going through their voice changes...sort of a chirp and hiss at the same time. My little female is no longer chirping, but has her adult muscovy voice now.
