Muscovy keepers share your pics!

So, my muscovy is broody and apparently the RLBW wants to share in the process. The nest box is not big enough for them both, but when one gets up to eat/drink the other takes over and sometimes they just both sit. I put 5 fertile eggs in there so far on day 14 and seeing veins and movement. I have one question though, I have another muscovy that decided to hide under the shed where the rabbits dug and she's also sitting on infertile eggs, at what point will she realize that nothings growing and quit? Will I need to dig them out somehow so they don't spoil? I tried, but can't reach far enough in there to get them...

One of my Muscovy ducks just gave up after 40 days. But that's not the norm here i have one that's
been broody since march and isn't sitting on anything.

Why are they like that? I've had a couple do that with nests out in the open and once it gets warm I have to put them in a pen or they'll die out in the sun.

Against my better judgment, I am allowing one of my Muscovy hens to incubate her eggs. I currently have four hens and two drakes. She had a nest with 8 eggs the last time I counted, but caught her off nest and she actually has 14 eggs. If she does like she has done in past, she will probably hatch them all. I don't know about everyone else, but I have a really hard time getting rid of extras when I attempt thin down flock. Last year I finally took several to an auction and didn"t get enough money out of them to pay for gas to auction. I love my Muscovys, but a few of them can eat a lot of grain over the winter. The only reason I let her set is because of fox losses over the spring. Maybe I will get lucky and she will only hatch out about half. Does anyone else have trouble moving extras birds?

I use birth control here and if I am don't have room for extras the ducks don't sit on eggs. very simple I just remove the eggs from under them. With the cost of grain it is getting harder to find homes for extras. So if you don't want her sitting on 14 then take half or more out and let her have some to hatch. To me it's being responsible.

I put ads on Craigslist and sell them for 1/2 of what other people are selling for and they're usually sold in a couple of days. To make it worth my time, I won't sell less than $20 worth of anything.
