Reece, I haven't had a duck hatch out eggs for me, but when I have a hen go broody, I mark her eggs and pull any new eggs that are laid in her nest to prevent a staggered hatch. Sometimes the broody will get off an egg that is zipped and the chick dies in the shell, so it makes more sense to to have them all hatch as close together as possible, so when the broody is ready to take them out for a stroll and food and water, they are not leaving any behind to die.
