Muscovy keepers share your pics!

If it was cheeping, then it had come through the membrane, but maybe the hole was so small that you didn´t see it.  When you tried to make a hole in the membrane, it bled.  You stopped.  Well done, right thing to do.
Now, just keep it damp, and leave it.  It´s not ready to come out until all the blood has drained from the membrane.  Your part is to keep the membrane moist so it can breathe and move. Don´t take any more shell off yet, just let the blood recede in the membrane.

That's a really good point about it possibly having pipped but only making a tiny hole. I hadn't thought of that but it makes sense. Explains the peeping etc...
If it has pipped though, won't it need it's nostrils free to breathe? My concern is that it could suffocate?

Ok so she has stopped laying for the past three days, and she has 8 eggs, but she has been sitting on some of the eggs for 10 days, and then was adding more to her nest as she went, when will they hatch or will it be a staggered hatch and any tips for during incubation
Thanks Reece

That'll be tricky and hard to say how the hatch will turn out, my calls did this.. i had 3 ladies all housed together and only 2 sat but the hatches were horribly staggered.. i ended up with 4 and 3 hatched in front of me as they needed assistance after pipping. Not much you can do other than clear out the newer ones and X(mark the olders) you'd need to candle though which will depend on how comfy you are this is tough territory.

Exactly. Been here done this. Best of luck!

Sorry. For some reason I'm not getting notifications for this.
I'd be breaking the membrane where its bill is, just enough for its nostrils to be free so it can breathe and acclimate. Then I'd wrap the little guy in a slightly moist warm piece of paper towel leaving his bill free while trying to cover all of the exposed membrane and pop him back in the bator to absorb.
Also, when freeing up its bill, be careful to not break a big vein. If the membrane is moist you'll be able to see them. Just work around them to avoid a bleed :)

hi, I already broke a veign but I got the bleeding to stop fast.
