Muscovy keepers share your pics!

gurggling, almost like uri symptoms without the sneezing or coughing. I have a coop she is in now, but the other ducks can get righh t up close. The other coop is just so small, I hate to put her in it again.
Is she sad with it so that you know she´s actually sick, or does she ever pass it to the others? I have a chicken that rattles and snorts and goes, but isn´t ill, and doesn´t pass anything on to the others or her chicks. I think it must just be a peculiarity of hers. She´s better in cooler weather.
All ducklings are turning out chocolates, different shades.

. 2 more to go. Im excited
They´ll be gorgeous. Well done.
I gave bellatrix 19 more eggs. I feel bad for taking eggs away when close to hatch and keeping the babies, but I afraid of them getting sick and the other coop is so small..
19? That´s a lot. Why so many? I leave mine with 4, sometimes 6, sometimes only two!

I looked today and my muscovy seems to be sitting on about 5 or 6 of the eggs under her, and the other 2 or 3 are sitting around her in the feathers(nest), but close to her will these eggs be okay, ( this is only some times, not all the time, she's sitting on them most times I look in on her?
Any help/ ideas
Thanks Reece

Odd. These eggs won´t do anything if she´s not incubating them. But more´s the worry that she´s maybe doing this with different eggs. In which case, once they get cold, they´ll not develop.
Do you think she´s sitting on the same ones, and has rejected these for some reason? To find out, you could pencil mark them, and see if she pushes the same ones out, or if she´s pushing out random ones. In which case, a bit of a lost cause.

lol they can handle so much more then that. Typical nest usually has atleast 13 in it. Thank you, im excited for the last 2 to hatch. No she doesnt seem to be passing it, but Im better safe then sorry since im hatching and selling and not keeping.

Just a thought it could be either eggs she has rejected them because they are infertile or like turning in an incubator she is turning them and letting them cool for a bit like Brinseas new incubators do which is supposed to have a better hatch rate although I think the cooling is meant to imitate the mother getting of the nest once a day.

Oh, I now they´ll sit on over 20, I suppose I just think that everyone´s the same..overpopulation of ducks. so, you have a lot of people where you arer that want them, then? Fair enough. I just imagine you getting stuck with hundreds of muscovies!

That´s why I keep the numbers down. Although, actually, none of mine has laid more than 14 eggs. This is the highest number laid this time. Normally they lay around 8, and I leave 2.

bellatrix was not happy. I candled the eggs to take the ones that have about a week or 2 left to incubate, so hope for a better hatch, and switched out with 19 more.
There´s more success leaving them under the duck. Just not as interesting!

Well I don´t believe they know which eggs are infertile, and they don´t cool them by pushing them out the nest. She´s just not quite got it together. Trouble is, these eggs that have started to develop, once they get too cold, will die, then turn rotten, and may pop in the nest

, so if you don´t intend to do that little experiment of marking them to see if it´s the same ones she´s pushing out, it´d be best to chuck them.

with the high number of eggs, the success has been lower. Let alone they have been having alot of trouble externally pipping, so I want to be there to help if need be. No sadly I dont, lol I have one person who wants some atm, but besides that, I have no one. I dont mind having the muscovies though, theyre quiet.

They can but more eggs does risk pooer results and the typical muscovy nest is 8 on the whole i have almost 100% hatch rates i don't allow large nests it get overwhelming and again success rates drop, i also allow my mothers to free range after to many it's harder to keep track and i have some awesome, attentive mums here.

Again though, GL with round #2.
