Muscovy keepers share your pics!

One of the 6 ducklings was limping badly. I caught it and found that a snapping turtle must have got ahold of the little foot for one whole toe was bitten off! Poor little one, I had to trim off some bad skin and let him back with his mom. He is doing better, not limping as much. I call him/her Footsie. LOL
we have a Scovy named lucky that is missing her whole web.. she is a great mother that keeps our freezer full!!

Do you have any pics of a nice German Muscovy drake? What a relief that there are people who don´t go to extremes.

Since I do not have SQ Muscovies, ( although my white duck might stand a chance at an exhibition) I will provide you with a link from the web: http://images1.dhd.de/82504882.jpg . This picture merely shows the face, but I think this is the most interesting part for the moment anyways

Here in Germany, it really depends on the breed and whether extremes are desired or not. Sadly, there are breeders who like balloon croppers or crested ducks with large crests or homozygous silky barbary doves or other breeds with traits that cause suffering.

Now, that one´s nice. Far more attractive than all that skin hanging around them, poor things. I´ll never understand why people like to breed animals or birds that are grotesque, and, like you say, suffer.
