Most females are actually fine but some become infertile

I guess them becoming infertile would be a good thing

It depends on where you live. Supply and demand. We get farm fresh chicken eggs for $4-$5. Duck eggs can be that much for just a half dozen. My ducks need to get laying!

What exactly does "retardiation" mean in this context? That their development is slower than usual?

Good, then i will say have it on hand VERY good for many things and works on injured ducks. When i had one attacked by coon many years ago, it kept the wound clean and infection free.. the one side of the duck was badly tore open, no vets here they will only aid you putting a duck down. so you're on your own!

Are these lavender feathers I see coming out?

Looks blue to me but pretty soon to tell, i know the one i had that was my 'new' colour took awhile before it was like? wait what direction is this bird taking lol
