My ducks avoid the chickens and geese, they will grab at the guinea hens. That may change, but i plan to have them separated more before spring arrives.I think it's personality, i mean out of my two boys, i bet the oldest/biggest wouldn't, the other? oh, heck ya! it's just his way, i would never risk it.
Lots going on around here with my Muscovies. Bleenie girl is broody AGAIN! This gal is only 16 months old and this is her 5th time going broody. She had a nest of 14 eggs but my old girl dog ate 7 of them, then we had 2 nights of freezing temps so no idea if anything will hatch but Bleenie gets a bad attitude when I stop her from setting a nest so I'll leave her be. The 4 scovy ducklings I got a few weeks ago are now living out in the wooden duck house and seem to be loving it..they're loosing the baby fluff and itty bitty feathers are sprouting. My 7 month old Drake is now topping the girls so they're all happy. My Pekin's 4 babies (now six months old and they're Pekin/Muscovy mix) are SO gorgeous! They are black and white and the black feathers on their back and under their wings look like velvet. They all fly, all sing like a scovy and quack when startled. Their size and shape is like a Pekin with a bit of a wider tail and they wag their tails like the scovies. Here's a photo of my 7 month old Drake, his name is Mario Blue Boy
