Thank you MissLydia! He's got the most adorable dark curl on the top/side of his head but it's so hard to capture a photo of it..it really curls up when he does his mohawk thing LOL I told him yesterday I should have called him Elvis!

He does look the ladies man. Beautiful color. He would makes some pretty babies with a couple of my girls.

I wish we lived closer! My 2 yr old Muscovy Girls have accepted him as their "man" ...his Daddy (Shadow) was their drake but he vanished this summer(Shadow and BlueBelle both vanished after leaving together for a day). Then I've got 2 of his "cousins" Sky, she's mainly white with lavender on her wings and tail, and cocoa chanel who is all black with a white head. I also have 2 scovy gals that are 8 weeks old who at this point are pure white with a black spot on top of their heads. Here he is with 3 of the oldest gals (Bleenie is not in the photo because she's in the pen with the 8 wk old babies).

and here are the Girls...Sky at the back(Sky is one of Bleenies babies hatched Valentines Day 2012) , Willow in the middle (Willow is my drake's Mother) and Cocoa Chanel (she was Cocoa's baby)

I'm going to take some pics of Bleenie with the 8 wk olds today...so far she doesn't want to bring them out of the duck pen yet..she's treating them like they're only a few days old, she won't let the older ducks come near them, she orders the babies into the house when the others come around LOL

Isn't it just such a joy to know these birds? I just love to watch mamas and their ducklings and for Bleenie to take on these ducklings at their age is just too sweet.

What a cutie, I love my drakes they have so much personality.

Yes they do, he cracks me up! He sleeps out side, and the other birds sleep inside, because he wont let me put him in the coop. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and he is at the back door XD

I'm not sure. In most of the pics I'd say female but in the pic next to the orpington hen, the muscovy looks big. My hens aren't as tall as a large chicken, my drake is much bigger than a chicken.

my BOs are TINY! I got them from Ideal last year and they barely top 4lbs, I recently aquired some breeder quality orps and man what a difference they are about 5 months ole and twice the size! so not a good reference Thanks for all the replies, I ask because I want her? to have a mate so I can have some cute wittle babies!

My favorite Hen Bleenie was on a nest of eggs but sadly the eggs had just quit developing. She tossed them from the nest last weekend and decided to adopt the four 8 wk old Muscovy Ducklings I had in the pen. Today is a cold and windy day and she hustled them all back into the duck house for a nap..of course I couldn't resist getting a photo Bleenie is in the forefront..the ducklings are almost the same size as her but she treats them like brand new ducklings LOL She's my lap duck and I love to bits!
