Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Well my white drake threw black pied and white babies with my black pied duck last year, so It will be interesting to see what these new girls bring :)

How many ducks can one drake cover? I just have the one (proven) drake and 5 ducks right now, I think I may need to thin that down.

Her lacing is chocolate, not blue/black. I'm just not sure if she's a Lilac or a Blue Fawn... Mostly because I'm not sure what the difference is.

I'll check out that calculator :D Thanks!
Not sure if this will help but Storey's Guide says:
Blue Fawn is a combo of chocolate with 1 blue-dilution gene. Adults are blue brown with white forewings.
Lilac is combo of chocolate with 2 blue-dilution genes. Adults are pale lilac with white forewings.

I've seen pics of blue fawns that look just like her, so I think that's what she is... her body is blue and her head is chocolate... very strange! The lilac pics I've seen look like one color throughout that's a diluted chocolate... does that seem right?

Generally 3-4 ducks per drake is good. Personally, i would not pare that back at all. I have 4 ducks per drake right now and am increasing that late may/early june with the edition of two more ducks(mind you buffs not muscovy) plus i have a duck on a nest right now, so any ducks hatched from it will stay too.

Another week has passed and the ducklings have grown. Little fuzzball has become stronger and has gained weight, but is still smaller and also keeps his round shape while the others have noticeably stretched. I suspect that it spine may be deformed because it looks a little hunchbacked to me.
Mother duck is still displeased with visitors, but when I offer food and water and stop moving, she and her offspring stay near me without being bothered by me. So I could take some close-up pictures

That does seem right. I tried to figure what you'd get with a white drake but the calculator doesn't have blue fawn. If she was lilac, according to the calculator, you'd get lilac pied and chocolate pied from the cross. So maybe blue fawn pied and chocolate pied?

Either way I'm looking forward to it!! Last year I just had the pair, now I have 5 girls! Going to get lots of duckies this year!

They sure have grown and still cute as ever, maybe the lil one will still stretch out as it grows, it's just a lil slower at doing it.

Definitely post pics of what you get. I am really thinking of adding more colors to mine. I have a black barred drake, black barred hen and 3 chocolate barred hens. So, my current drakelings are split to chocolate and I can breed them with one of the other chocolate hens to get some chocolate babies. I'd love to get some whites and maybe blues. One day. My hubby has said I need to start working again before I can buy anymore animals.
