Total cost $50.00 everything is used or scrap except for the base.

Dh was given a 50 foot roll of hardware cloth from work. The dog kennel was free..


DD names the coop Adobo which is a Filipino chicken dish... She named the duck coop Balut which is a Filipino duck egg snack

finally now I have to put panels over the hardware cloth



We have buried hardware cloth @ 18 inches on all 4 sides of the duck coop


I am putting solexx over the chicken door to bring more heat in for winter..

I used an old table top for the pop door

Cute idea! i have an old playhouse here but i worry about winter... not to mention coons ripping through plastic.

im up to 12 eggs I she layed 2 last night. Only thing is she's sitting on them at night but not during the day

Normal, once as she's put what she wants to really sit on she'll do so during the day, the chocolate who took over the eggs we found, did the same she's now sat solid during the day. So i guess we're 'expecting' again.

I have a huge water tank, left over from our days of raising and showing horses, it is about 3 feet tall. Will ducks go up a ramp to get in if I use it. It holds about 700 gallons of water, so I don't want to mess with it if It won't work. I also have Sebastopols and call ducks along with the muscovys. What would work best for a ramp. I'm afraid wood would just rot as I need something in the water for them to get out also. I thought of those big stepping stones, but it would take alot of those. Any ideas??

Mine use a ramp about 3'wide to go up into our pool { I use to use a stock tank also] it's made with treated lumber and has been around for many years and still holding up, most of my ducks just launch themselves out of the water onto the ramp so not sure what would be the best to use inside.
