little blue hen takes flight

Clean her wounds out good Buck and keep her separate from your ducks hopefully she'll heal and you can let her go free. Amazing you were able to do all that with out being injured your self.

I tried and I think I did pretty well, I put her in with my other duck that got injured but he's a muscovy and hurt by an unknown predator, I think I know what it is but I don't like pointing fingers. But he's a lot better so he was moving away from her , and I hope he didn't hurt himself

Oh Ambi thankyou!!
It is so reassuring to hear this from somebody else in Aus!
I still wasn't clear so that helps a tonne:)
I know I was advised against leaving the new drake with the chooks but he goes absolutely nowhere near them. They're a pretty pushy bunch so he stays in his corner.
My partner is away this weekend (for duck opening ironically) but I've almost got him convinced we have the space for a second pen so fingers crossed in the next week the new drake will get a home of his own and 2 or 3 girlfiends will follow.

You might also know as you have sibling ducks. Is it okay for them to be mating or will I end up with deformed ducklings?
I was under the impression that it was no differwnt to line breeding but last night the guy I brought thw new drake from said it was absolutely NOT okay?

Keep an eye on him you don't want him hurting her he is so much bigger. How is she this morning?
