I always have heard that the eggs don't start developing until the duck starts to sit 24/7![]()
yes that's right but you also have to remember that Muscovys take 35 day not 28I actually don't know for sure. hummmmmm I guess I need to research that.
As for candling, a really strong flashlight up against your egg while you hold it. You cup your hand around the top of the flashlight, so that you both hold the egg steady and try to keep all of the light only going to the egg, none into the room. If the flashlight is super big, you can always tape over most of the light area to make it smaller.
This article has great pictures of candling eggs. I know they are chicken eggs, but they will look the same, just the growth will be a bit different since the incubation time is different, ducks are slower. I am remembering that correctly, right? Chickens are 21 days and ducks are 28?
