I wonder if it could be corrected somewhat with a sort of shoe made of vet wrap?

I dont think so. It's bones have hardened and I didn't see it soon enough. The baby gets around amazingly well, good appitite, ect.

Even if the bones have hardened it can still be fixed , broken bones for example, i also think it can be fixed , maybe if u cut out a little piece of cardboard just big enough for the foot and tie it to the foot or use medical tape to keep the cardboard on, I think it will work and you'll have a healthy duck

The duckling is healthy and gets around fine, no disrespect in anyway, but ive said that alot. It gets around, eats, drinks, keeps up with the others just fine. This issue is a little different then broken bones, you can fix the broken bone by lining the bones where they should be and putting a splint on it while wrapping it up, but this bone is not broken. You can not line up the leg the way it should without braking it and im not going to do that. It wil not straighten out with a splint. It's grown one way and has hardened. You can put a splint on it but that could just cause the bone to grow in another direction causing more problems.

No egg this morn. I let ducky out of the run about 1 pm to wander the yard while I planted some bushes. She went under the porch, and didn't come out. So I checked. First, she dug a hole. Then she pulled on the tent a little. Then she sat there quietly for about 30 minutes. When she finally came out, there was an egg. I took it, they are infertile. Now what?

Also, I found a guy with a bunch of drakes he needs rid of bad. Bad like he has 6 guys and 7 girls. Is it enough to have them all in their own run away from duckie or would they "smell" her and still fight? I figured I could build a bachelor pad for them and maybe trade and swap around with others who may want to add to their gene pool.

It will work as long as they can't see her. and use her eggs for baking,eating.

Today I will be working some more on my big girls' pen & cleaning their old tub in my room to house my new arrivals, Eeeeeeee!!!

I will!! I have 3 almost 9wk old females; Pekin, KC & a Magpie. I love my girls dearly, but Muscovies have always been my favs. We had farm ducks when I was little & some were Muscovies. My fav of them was a Muscovy who was the best mother of any animal I've ever seen. She died of old age yrs ago, but I've always loved & admired her.
