Muscovy keepers share your pics!

My (very talkative) baby boy, Whistles.

What a handsome boy, and they do seem to have alot to say..I'm thinking Whistles is saying "thanks mom and dad for rescuing me I'm a happy Boy."

Just sharing a picture of my Muscovies not wanting to give up their eggs. They looked so cute. However, I already have more ducks than I know what to do with, so I did make them leave the nest. That's the first time I've heard my ducks make a loud protest!

LOL i know that feeling all to well.. i still have a few who have sneaked nests in though. One tossed her whole nest but wasn't done, so i gave her silkie chicken eggs! she's happily sitting on those.

Awhile back someone asked about hatcheries that sell Muscovy ducklings. Last week I received my shipment from Country Hatchery. I was pleased all around.Customer service was great, they had a good selection of colors, and the babies showed on time and healthy. Prices were a bit high but you get what you pay for so it was worth it.

I'm sending for ceramic eggs (as suggested by Miss Lydia). Today, one of the females decided that if I was just going to take the eggs, she'd lay them elsewhere, like on the ground in front of one of my sheds. Hopefully if I give her the ceramic eggs, she'll go back to the nest.

(Selling the babies might be tricky. It seems there are several Muscovy breeders in the area and always plenty of ducklings available.)

Those eggs work so good mine might even be able to hatch something out of them
