Look forward to seeing the littles when they hatch..I candled my muscovy eggs today. Well two of them anyways. I can't see anything through them now except the air sac. I have no idea when she started laying on them so no idea when they will hatch. I am excited. She barely leaves the nest at all now, not even to eat. And I noticed today that she was kinda biting at the eggs and tapping on them. I hatch quail eggs in an incubator but this is the first time I have had eggs hatched by their momma. It;s going to be so fun watching her teach them things.
Curled feet can be fixed with tape and are most likely from being in the shell too long. Absorbed yolk = full term duckling, your duckling is not premature. Don't wait too long to fix the legs or feet, if you do, you won't have many options. The baby is very healthy, it's not very big though, and it feet are still curled up like they would be in the egg, so I think it hatched early, and if one if it's legs aren't formed right I'll get it the expensive surgery to fix it when it gets older
How's the little guy doing today? Did he get his rest? is he using his flabby feet today? The baby is very healthy, it's not very big though, and it feet are still curled up like they would be in the egg, so I think it hatched early, and if one if it's legs aren't formed right I'll get it the expensive surgery to fix it when it gets older
15 days to go on my first brooding lady ! she has 11 good eggs... Cant wait to see what she is making in there !.... She is a chocolate pied. Her chocolate sister contributed some of the eggs she is on. She disappeared last week. The dominant male is black so he is the father of allot of them i think...Although i there was some duck rape from the other two males hear and there lol.. One Lavender and one blue pied male. Should be interesting to see what hatches.![]()

Te baby is doing great to day but it doesn't want to eat, it might have to be tube fed for a while , it's weak but strong , and I don't know if the told was absorbed or not, all I know is the belly button was still sticking out and it bled for a little yesterday but the bleeding was stopped and everything is good, it's just so weak but strong for a baby who was born out of those conditions, I think it'll live. I'll post some pics later
