Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Ok apparently it will only let me add one pic per post so I'll post a couple. These are my new babies, wondering if I should give anything special to these, 3 of them have issues. 2 have wonky beaks, this is one. They are active and I assume everyone is eating, but I am separating them from the others just so I can watch them closer.

I am wondering if these 3 have issues cause their mom was a first time mom. Maybe she pecked at them some?

@ Kathy - it's in my raising and breeding ducks book under birth defects

Hmmm, never heard of it and couldn't find any info on the wb or in my books. Sorry for your loss... You should consider sending it off for a necropsy. Cause of death was probably a yolk sack infection and dehydration.

She will be lonely since she has spent her life as an indoor duck with her people as her flock. what about another female to keep her company. It will still take time for her to get use to being a duck and not a human. and as far as he housing it has to be secure hardware cloth and more hardware cloth about the only thing a predator can't get through. Go to search and type in duck houses and pens, you'll find some made really well and secure and some not so much but if you want to keep her safe for many years go very secure. with good ventilation and no way for anything to get through, over or under.

Duckie was indoors for 9 months. She seems to have adjusted just fine to being moved outside. Of course I have 4 kids running around the yard with her, and I hang out with her during the day.

I made it pretty tough when I made her house there's pics of it on this thread about 20 pages back. Still working on the permanent run.
