Hold onto those pics because soon they will be asking for submissions for the next yr calender and I'd love to see one of yours on it.
Implant? explain please. Hope all goes well.
She is very pretty and I hope the implant helps her, I have lost 2 ducks in the past several months to egg issues. heartbreaking. glad she now has ducklings to occupy her time. Shes a very blessed duck to have you for an owner. How does that work then with the calender? Will they just ask me or do i have to ask? Would be funny...
And the implant is an hormonal ...uuh..thing. Don`t know how you call it. They put it under her skin while she`s in a quick narcotic sleep. It will release hormones for half a year so her egg-production will be stopped. Sort a like the human anticonception.
She really needs it because i`m afraid next time she won`t be so lucky when she`s eggbound. She also had a prolapse in the past. She always has problems with her belly. I`m really curious if it will have any affect on her moods. Normally she`s a sweety, but ever since she has problems with her belly, her temperament changed. Not so sweet anymore. But still, i love her and i don`t want to loose her. I`m also curious if she will still let the drake mount her. Now she won`t have anything to do with him because she`s to busy with the ducklings. Normally her hormones will kick in and she will let the drake do his thing, but now she`s getting the implant.... She`s one of my first duckies. By far not the most gorgeous one, but for a long time most certainly the sweetest and worth fighting for! The vet made some phonecalls to some other vets about how this procedure goes and now he`s gonna help her. FINGERS CROSSED!!

Great pics! the mama let's you touch them! lol i cannot get near mine around here... i think someone said niacin? that is what you need.. personally if you can get a duck starter/grower that is easier vs supplements.. if their on that then one may need extra... so then supplements are the correct route. GL.

As for the calender watch in the newsletter BYC sends out they should begin to ask for submissions in the next couple of months.
