Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Alice, I still have 26 eggs incubating from his bloodlines though.. the ones that will live I want to give a chance, but the ones that dont, its probably best.

I will hope for healthy ducklings and post pictures when they hatch :) ducklings are adorable!

you bet I will and I hope for live and healthy babies too, but they are so far in the same bloodline that there is no gurantee. Have some hatching soon and then another 19 that just started about a week ago. They were barely growing and I didnt have the heart to just throw them away to let them get cold and die.

No I got them at 2 & 3 weeks old from Bhep here on byc. If anyone in nc would like one

$10 each. Hahaha
One of them is gorgeous, a lilac or similar (I´m not too hot on colours). They look bigger already than your 3-yr-old male. Maybe it´s just the photo.

I havent been to my gmas since they went missing. My mom has been, and she said she thinks the big drake was killed. Its kind of a good thing though...we had two drakes and three hens. But its still sad because they all got along.
its not coon, it would have eaten their heads...
also, they already survived a coon.

Today my g-pa found a gigantic snapping turtle in his old horse corral. We had our neighbor come down to rid of it for us. He said she must be 30 years old. We were going to shoot it because its turtle season and it might have drowned the ducks. But he decided to go release it a few miles away in a creek with lots of snappers. We also figured it wouldnt drown two ducks in one night. We dont mind if it comes back, so long it stays away from us. But I did learn that whatever took our ducks, coyote or possibly human, took two of the drakes. Our magpie and our larger muscovy. Leaving us with 1 fully chocolate muscovy drake, 3 chocolate hens, 1pekin hen, and a magpie I want to call survivor. The magpie hen I swear has nine lives. She survived rye head, a cold weather incident resulting in 3 deaths, and predators. She was also the runt. So we are stuck with a drake and 5 hens... hoping to get some more in the spring to higher the chances of thrm living. We have since built an about 18 by 18 open face pen to the water, where something must come from the water to get to them. And they are locked up at night. They have been much more cautious since the death of thr two drakes, and no longer come to us for food. Im sure my little cousin will be devastated.
