Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Duckling is here!! Brace yourself, not so exciting. I checked on it several times. Each time it became more and more suspicious. So, I helped it all the way. It had ALOT of muck!! As I was holding it, it took a few breathes. When I laid it down, it instantly stopped breathing. Goodbye lil massive chocolate

Thank you buck! I'm upset, but to be honest, I'm glad it didnt. The poor thing would have suffered if it didn't die. It was a massive baby, it was twice the size of average sized hatchlings. My question is, why so much muck??? I mean it was half an inch thick, everywhere in the egg. Also if you look at the navel, the gunk near it, there is black coloring. I didn't dig around, but what could that have been?

If it was a double yolker and the other didn't develop that could explain the size of the baby and also the extra goo.

I swear this happens every single year for my muscovy babies, why do they insist on tearing out each others new forming feathers, i know its a form of cannibalism but i mean, its so not okay, they get enough protein and everything just
