nice colours.

Boys don't seem to need to watch their weight but I have some pretty chubby girls at least they'll be warm over winter.

we don't have real winters but my babies (will be 3 mo on dec 4th) eat like pigs, they all are bigger than my 3 hens! it seems I have 3 girls and 6 boys.

my drake tried to mate 1 I think is a boy. would he know difference or he would mate anything?

Your 3 month drake tried to mate another drake or your older drake tried? I have no idea at that age if a drake knows another drake but he may. I usually don't see any mating behavior until following year with mine. Even having an older drake he doesn't mess with the young ducks until following year after hatch. Having warm temps year round may have something to do with it.

my big drake tried to mate a 3 mo one, which I don't know if it is boy or girl. as it is one of the biggest babies I assume it is a boy.

And he hasn't messed with and of the others? Then I'd say he thinks drake and it's a dominance thing.

maybe, although when I took him off the poor little one he grabbed and mated the mom! I guess he was desperate. he usually becomes aggressive and grabs the hens in the evenings. I must be there to make sure he doesn't hurt any of the young ones. warm weather is not helping.

That testosterone can really cause trouble. Thankfully mine stop mating in fall and don't start back usually till late Feb of the next year. It's a nice break.. I am glad to hear you keep an eye on him some drakes can really injure young ones.
