Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Ouch! Hope you get help.  I'll be interested to hear of the answer.

You are fairly close to me I live off of 290 1/2 way between Brenham and Giddings.  Do you know of a hatchery for ducks that is fairly close? I know of the one in Cameron, TX but wondering if there is one closer.

Good Luck

Please help - I am not sure if I am posting in the correct place but I need help- my males penis won't go back in - I guess it's prolapsed ??? I don't know what to do its not bleeding just hanging out - it Looks lite red around the butt area !
@JudysMuscovy First get him away from the females he doesn't even need to think about mating at the moment. Can you let him bathe? that way he'll clean up real good then you need to [place him in an area where he'll be on clean bedding preferably towels] so once you put Prep H or triple antibiotic or neosporin on it the shaving won't stick to it.. Once he has bathed then you want to slather on the ointment and try to push it back in. It may not stay,so keep the penis good and moist, if it won't stay a vet can help. If it gets infected that can be serious. Sometimes they will dry up and fall off but always a chance of infection, best thing is to keep it good and moist with the ointment and keep trying to get it back in. He should not attempt mating for at least a month or longer. .

This sounds ghastly! Poor duck!

@Miss Lydia - he has been in the pond - I don't think I can catch him and actually be able to do all that - he just keeps looking at it - hopeful no one will bother him - and it will go back in ? Why does that happen ? From mating and then it gets stuck?

Over mating usually. They just don't know when to quit. I hope no one messes with it either that could be bad. don't you put them up at night that would be a good time to get him.

@Miss Lydia - yes they are in an enclosed coop with the pond - but it's still hard to catch them he's pretty big and I don't handle them- they are not afraid of me or me them but he's huge and I would definitely need help

@ Miss Lydia - guess I will just keep an eye on him and separate him when my hubby can help me - I don't think he's going to try and mate - he can't figure out why it's just hanging there
