Their ages varied, Farm I had since 6th grade, as well as Mallard, Crest was born on April 11 2014, Smew on July 31 2014, and Celeste on August 22 2014

And I know it wasn't a dog, no holes were dug, it climbed over, so raccoon or bobcat

That's just it, I don't know, but they weren't up last night, they were in an area I thought would be safe, I was wrong. It's all my fault

Sorry I haven't been checking in much I have a pinched nerve in my arm which is making computer use hard.

No, not yet at least. GEES it's hard finding anything his age. I'm going tomorrow to look at some and some hatchlings

My heart goes out to you. I lost one this week also and whatever got it just killed her and the eggs she was sitting on.

Dogs can climb/jump over also. Dogs kill for sport. When the bird stops moving, the dog loses interest, which is why you often find the victim of a canine attack near where it was killed."

Don't beat yourself up. You did what you thought was the best for them at the time. We all make mistakes.

Thanks, but for sure it wasn't a dog, fence is way to tall plus I don't think the dog could have gotten back out, but thanks for the info about the dogs

ok,I must have set the calender late.but I don't think so.two of my broody muscovys eggs are already showing shadows on the outer edge of the air cell.and it's only day 26

Have they dipped down already? Some eggs can be ahead of the others by a day or two so I wouldn't worry. The shadows are usually caused by the duck getting into the hatching position so if they are just starting to show I'm betting you have another 24 hr+ or so to internal pip

Yes they were but they weren't just Muscovies you know, they're my family, losing them is just... Awful
