Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Excuse me, do you have any tasty treats you would like to donate to starving duckies?

Ok, this was MUCH cuter with the picture of my girls looking in our back door! I'm having technical difficulties this morning.

@Ren2014, did you move your broody to a different area? I would think you'd be fine sticking them under her. I have a skittish broody that I've added a few eggs under and she took them fine. Mine were only penciled on. She got off the nest while I was around, but eventually went back in. She's now on 14. She's a first time broody/mom, so my fingers are crossed she holds out for this clutch.

Yes, I moved her from a ground nest up to a secure house in our night pen. I kept her locked up with food and water and she settled down and is sitting on them again. I open the house during the day for her to have a chance to get out and bathe. She hasn't yet that I know of. I did move four of the eggs back with her yesterday. Two at a time. She bit me the second time but seems to have taken all four back. I plan on putting the other two back with her today. I originally thought she was sitting on 14 but when we moved her it turned out to be 24

I haven't had this girl very long and I'm not sure of her past but so far she seems to be a very dedicated momma

I lost my first broody Muscovy to a snake

Good luck with your broody

I'd like to do that with my broody, but I'm afraid she'll freak out and have nothing to do with the eggs. She's in a secure pen right now, but I'd like her away from the drake and other hens. Maybe they bug me being around more than her. I think I'll give it a go.

24 eggs! Do you think she's done at 24? I just counted 18 under mine a little bit ago. I think I'll start grabbing any additional she lays.

I have a dozen eggs in the incubator right now. 4 are going into lockdown Tuesday, the rest two weeks later. It's my first time hatching Muscovies, so we'll see. Great idea on the thread - I'll definitely follow it!

I know what you mean about the drake and the others being around. Can you move them??

I think she is done at 24. I'm afraid they are not all hers. Some might be from our ducks. I don't know what I will do if they start hatching at 28 days.
