lol, they would all still be in the brooder with a heat lamp and no access to any kind of pond. Just the water dish. Just a silly thought. I doubt either of the girls would go for it anyway.

But so appropriate for him...a large white duck, who walks and talks like a human (and he does), who can't swim!
We are adopting a few hen chicks from a rescue down south in June, and one of them is designated to be named Beverly!

not yet. Day 35 will be Friday. I was hoping to see some early action but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I did candle a couple eggs this morning and they're still wiggling in there. No internal pips yet.
Hatch update. Only had 2 babies hatch and unfortunately, one died 2 days later. They were the first eggs that my ducks ever laid so maybe that had to do with it.
I am so sorry, how is the one duckling doing mama taking care of it?
This mama is lol. It's in the brooder with a bunch of chicks. I was hoping it would bond to us but it just seems bonded to them and scared of us :/

I plan on taking one of my female Muscovy girls over to a friends house so their Blue Male Muscovy can breed with her. I have a male of my own, but he is Chocolate and I really want Blue Muscovies!
My questions are:
1.) How long should I separate her from my male before taking her to mate with another male for the Blue males genes?
2.) If my chocolate male mates my female and I take her to mate with different male. Would the new male's genes be the one to fertilize the eggs? Or will my chocolate be the daddy?
This is the female I choose to breed with the Blue Male.
She is on a clutch of eggs right now. But in July I plan on taking her to breed with Mr.Blue.
