Try marshmellows, they can't resist them. Also sardines in oil. Just open the can a tiny bit so that they have to really work to get the sardines out. While they are bouncing around trying to get at the sardines, they will set off the trap. Good luck!Any tips on trapping raccoon?I've smeared the traps with guts
, left a trail, camouflaged, and left its favorite, duck... It came back one night and tried to dig around one trap and set it off. I'm pretty sure it hasn't come around the last 2 nights. I can hear it coo'ing in the woods before bed but cant get the damn thing.
I'm ready to go buy a coon dog and just hunt it down!!!!

(were using butchered duck scraps) lol Hopefully we get the little turd tonight.
Racoons cannot resist sweets, especially Little Debby's Honey Buns. Racoons seem to know that it's a trap and will dig around the outside of the trap first trying to get the bun out, and will tip the trap over if not secured to the ground. We use long garden staples to anchor the trap.Any tips on trapping raccoon?I've smeared the traps with guts

I don't want to kill it, since they are said to eat mice and snakes. I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with my flocks death. The first roo it killed, it pulled through the fence and didn't leave a bone behind, that's why I assumed raccoon. Should I take the possum somewhere or just let it go?
