The foot missing a toe looks good. The one that was swollen I'm starting to worry might have gotten frost bitten too. I'm worried he'll loose it. With his black skin its hard to tell what is damaged.

The left one looks like the foots shriveled now.

Is it wrong of me to keep him if he's missing a foot? Can he still have a decent life? I don't want to put him down. But if its whats better for him I will.

He finally came out of the cage to hang out by me and dogs. He's definitely going to loose the foot I think. Must have gotten frost bitten while swollen? I had him on my porch on straw but I guess it wasn't good enough.

Yeah its shrinking quickly now. Wasn't as noticeable at first but definitely is tonight.

There was a member who had a Mallard drake with out a leg and it was wild would fly into her property. Haven't seen her on in a while
I'd take it a day at a time and see how he does. Main thing right now is infection so keep on doing what your doing to help him through. If he starts going down hill you'll know then it's time.

No real change yet. He didnt want the bath yesterday. Wouldn't stay in and I was worried he'd hurt himself. The spot where the foot is going to fall of looks a little bigger but it might be from the frostbite one shrinking. He doesn't move much but I'm not sure if its just pain. Eating and drinking fine. I always have the pen open when I'm in the house in case he wants to come out but normally he just stays in. Very alert still. Hoping it falls off soon.

Well as long as he is alert eating drinking I'd say pain maybe minimum I don't think they process pain like we do after seeing so many birds recover from horrendous attacks and illnesses. Probably best he isn't moving around much right now if his foot is going to fall off wouldn't want it to come off before ready.

Found a home for this guy today. Sold the people some females and now they want a boy.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with Mercurys offspring. I kept one of his daughters and she is hilarious. Very bossy.

I don't have a very good picture of her but this is Sky and Mercury.
