I just realized today that in my "blue breeders", all my hens are a different color... 1blue, 1black, 1white, 1lavendar, 1silver....Not sure how i missed that before! Someone needs to send me a self-blue egg to complete my 'SET'!!
Updated pics of Murphy( Lilac Drake), I think hes SO pretty but i am still dying to have a Chocolate Drake!
Updated Pics of Montie(Silver Hen)
Yes, the white hens are on purpose
Almost forgot about little baby Numa..not sure yet if it's a hen or drake..(hen
Bleenie, thanks for the update. You do have some very pretty Scovies! Doesn't look like will have any trouble selling off your ducklings in the spring with all those pretty colors.
I'm glad they all turned out so pretty. they look nothing like their parents & grandparents!
Sidney is doing great now, back to his old self & finally has his color back...it was saddening looking at his orange face there for so long, i almost thought he was going to be stuck that way!
There's a lot of Black Muscovies around here, some Blues & VERY few chocolates. I have been looking for a drake near me forever now.
People are still selling the ducklings for $8ea and Adults and Juvies for $20-$45...it's crazy. I am lucky i found my babies way early in the year and got them all for $1/ea
& $9 for the Juvies... and they were colored birds too!! It still amazes me but i am super thankful.
I will probably sell mine around $5 or something when the time comes... going to be hard to see them go though
I am going to try to have a pen set up for the "for sale" birds... i think that might help me to say goodbye instead of keeping 100 more babies!!
Soooo Cute! That Scovy is going to be such a pretty Ducliar Pied! Such clear color patterns. Do you know what you are going to do with it since it is a domestic Scovy and not wild?
