Yes we have Wild Muscovies, they do have a dark face with only a little red. When I saw your pics keeperof the hearth--- I am thinking your muscovies have some recent wild muscovy genetics bred into the line.
You can see the drake we started with on pg#1. Over the course of the year we had him his caruncles grew a bit heavier but not much reder. Most of his sons seem to developed the black w/red caruncles so I suspect a sexlinked gene there since his daughters don't.

but they can still fly but not as far. Even my big drakes can fly if the can get up where they can get lift. Hope to post pics if I can figure it out. MY one girl even hatched out a emden goose they love to sit and would probably hatch out anything they could sit on. Thanks again for pic.
