Yes, they can be loveable! Yesterday, my chocolate drake ambled through the tall grass and looked at me wistfully, so I had to go get him some food. I held the food in my lap and he ate it hungrily. Of course, he's just a little lonelier since all his scovy girls are broody....

How long has she been sitting on them and how long has she been off? I've seen them get off eggs for 30min or longer on occassion and it didn't seem to hurt them.

Do you have a bator? It may be too late. Can you candle the eggs? For some reason she's left. Had she been broody a week or so before she had eggs to sit on? Something must have happened to break her.

Sorry to hear she's off.

i dont think so. all this week i have been finding broken eggs by her nest and one had green liquid inside it so maybe her nest was too dirty or something.

Shes the only hen i have right now. Ilroost gave me 5 scovys and 4 of them ended up drakes. Now im going to have to figure out where shes laying. I do have a mallard hen that gets mated by the drake...

I do have Scovy ducklings for sale right now but that won't do you much good as far as breeding stock for your Scovy drake. Do you still have that beautiful drake?
