Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I went today to pick up a new Silver hen... she's very teeny, just a little bigger than my 1.2mo old babies and she's fully feathered

. i think she needs a better diet is most of it. I ended up coming home with another, older "Fawn-colored" hen too... I couldn't help it, lol. I think she might be buff but they were SOOOOO muddy I couldn't really tell.

I also picked up 25 hatching eggs from a lady up the road from there. She has the most Beautiful Black Pied Muscovies I have ever seen! she did have a few Blues but I am more interested in the blacks right now

. I will get pics of the new girls after they get cleaned up and settled. they were more worried about eating and playing in the pools than paying attention to the other girls poking them, lol.

Where's everyone else at with their Scovy pics?? I feel like I am posting too much

This is the new girl, the older one. She's a weird buff color but it's not showing well in the pics

Her first visit to the creek... I had to walk her down there and she was a little unsure at first, really didn't know what to do when she swam into the current, lol.

My calls learned to "roost by watching the Scovies and now they have learned how to jump up/or fly up into the 100gl pools.
Here are a few BEFORE the additional 7+ inches of snow over sleet/snow mix. It has not been a fun time for my Scovies & other ducks. They will need to be kept inside for the next 2 - 2 1/2 days since we are expecting lows around 1 and highs in the teens w/windchills of -10. YUCK!!!

Ginger - again..... before our latest snowfall.

I miss my scovies!!!

They had survived happily for over a year. They didn't survive last spring's fox rampage in spite of fences, ponds and coops. The coop's weak spot has been fixed and fort knoxed and we have chickens again. But no ducks yet. The scovies always eventually find the "big" pond while free ranging with the chickens and don't come back to the coop at night. It was so hard to lose them all in a couple weeks time, I can't bring myself to try again right now.

Anyway, I've sooo been enjoying seeing everyone's pictures. Thank you for sharing everyone
