I've never used a bator just my girls so don't know the fundalmentals or turning and such, but Edwena should be a great broody and mother. you do know it's 35 days for Muscovies to hatch? Be sure to keep us updated on all the happening especially hatch day.. And how about some pics/Love this thead, not read the whole lot but quite a bit.
I have fallen in love with these birds, we have a lavender & white female - Edwena, a black & white female - Zoe, a white male (hes huge) - Frank and 3 little ducklings, looking like 2 females 1 white & lavender, 1 white & chocolate and another white male.
We purchased them all from market over the past 2 months or so we've had Edwena the longest she mothered some other ducklings that we'd bought and is currently sitting 7 of her own eggs :0), she has now lined the nest in fluffy feathers and whistle away when you go near, I do hope she can hatch them, she started sitting full time yesterday I think shes been getting a clutch before sitting full time - would I be right in thinking this. We put 9 eggs in the bator over a week ago and 8 are fertile so we've also got 8 muscovy eggs in the bator too. Is there anything different that you should do with muscovy eggs, the are in an auto turn bator oct 20, do you have to manually turn once a day like you do with goose eggs?
I will get some pictures soon and upload them.
