Is getting all/mostly boys common then? Because I'm pretty sure I got 1 girl out of all 7 that my duck hatched.

I had 4 girls 3 boys with my last hatch....not sure about this one that just hatched, haven't checked them yet lol

Here's a picture of the newest babies :) There's 10 of them all together!

No idea how common it is but out of 10 babies i got this year.. 9 are drakes, two different hatches but the eggs were all the same duck.. just raised by others(she's a bad mother)

I think male/female offspring ratio has a lot to do with the Drake. I have had boys in the past that produced a lot of boys but my most recent breeding drake had almost all girls. I am no genetics guru but I do know it happens with cattle as well. we used to rarely get a heifer calf until we got a new bull, this year he produced 8 heifers & 1 bull calf.
