Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Well if you got a Pekin duck I'm sure your boys would probably act the same as mine, they'd chase her down and make her one of the family real fast.

Here are some snaps again of my young boys... 4mths old this week that my mother took.. such nice looking guys too bad they cannot be girls

They are beautiful I'd take them in a min.

I wish you could, I know you'd be a lovely home!
Reckon they could fly across the border undetected? Have you been able to find homes for any? I know you were able to find girls, was hoping maybe you found some good homes for some of the boys. And has there been any signs of the pred around any more?

I bet some of them could! Some are getting to be pretty good fliers. And no, other than the one i traded for the trio of girls, i did get an inquiry this past weekend but being our Thanksgiving i knew it was of the wrong kind(you guessed it, do I sell any for meat?

I think it's a combo of our tight economy, higher feed costs and winter playing a role. So for now the plan is the rest staying and i will make a drake flock come spring. As for the predator? nope not a single problem, curious enough the neighbours dog is now tied on his front porch making enough noise to echo throughout the valley. I still have two who leave, they just fly out, a duck and drake combo, i just hope for the best.

I'm glad you were able to get some more girls though, good idea about keeping them boys separate, what about fighting though? So far our 2 youngest 6months and 1yr are able to be together during the day even with the youngest chasing all the girls, out oldest drake is separate with his girls, he is just not able to keep up with the 2 younger ones although he gives the yr old a run for his money if they are together. I am just going to enjoy this break from all the mating and fighting and try not to think about spring and all it will bring with it. I'd like to get all my girls chastity belts.

Well, right now the whole flock is together they all forage out in the 1/3 of an acre pen they have and then as i said i have two that will fly out now & again. At night, i keep pairs... two drake/duck combos and one duck pair housed in stalls, the trio of 2mth old are still crated and then 8 take the middle of the barn.. and yes that means the 4mth old ducklet is in there too, she won't leave her brothers, she looks like a freakin' toy beside them but despite trying to put her with the ladies she won't stay, i don't think she knows she's a girl and they are not?

During the day, things seem to keep okay.. my biggest problem is that 14mth old black drake he is ANNOYING he picks on spot the oldest drake and yet he isn't as big, he has such a bloody attitude unfortunately, i lost the one that was more mellow.. They have gotten into some real throw downs so he is locked up at night tight so he doesn't get out or he wreaks havoc.

Mind you i have some real bold girls too, they got into it the other day?

they went off carrying on something fierce then the feathers flew... i'll tell ya some days... their lucky i don't eat duck.

I know what you mean about the girls, they come to blows here once in a while but nothing like the drakes thank goodness. Talking about feathers flying, mine are all starting into molt, it looks like they've all been fighting there are so many feathers everywhere.
