Muscovy Keeps biting at his stomach

Just remember dawn will also strip the oils off your ducks so he won't be water proof for a while till he preens and get his feathers oiled again. The dog flea topical has permethrin in it. They are the safe ones.

Okay, just wondering if OP was new to muscovies, perhaps mistaken for normal grooming behavior.
Yeah, I've owned him and many others for six years, So I'm not new to them, this has just blindsided me as we've never had this happen before. I am familiar with normal bathing procedures but I find it quite odd that over the past few months he doesn't bathe frequently. Obviously thats concerning and we do force him in but if you or anyone has any thoughts on why this might be happening, that would be GREATLY appreciated. I feel like that is why this mite/lice thing took off.

I've had muscovies for three years, so you have more experience than me. My two males also don't bathe much at all once they reached around a year old.

I can't offer any ideas, but please keep us posted.
