Muscovy newbie

Muscovy's are unique in that they are a tropical animal. They have the least fatty insulation of all the ducks and can get frostbite. There is a YouTube channel by a Canadian guy, 50 Ducks in a Tub or something like that. Anyway his Muscovy's were getting frostbite so bad they were losing their toes and claws.

Good news is that his Pekins were much more cold tolerant and had no issues. If I were in Canada I would consider getting a Mallard derived duck (Muscovy's are the only non mallard) as they are more resistant to the cold. I amasure you could still get them, you would just have to make sure they have some way to provide them some heat in their cool or barn.
