Muscovy stopped laying

my ducks 4 hens and 1 drake stated laying 2months ago
2 hens built a nest and sat, one hatch 5 this week the other is still sitting.
i have 2 other hens and but they stopped laying 2 weeks ago
they are all first year birds

i thought the season was over until i read they lay upto 40 weeks ????????
confused now
any help please

They have to have breaks during laying cycle to keep their bodies from wearing out. Just keep feeding good quality food and give them time they will get back into laying. Mine take breaks periodically too. And congrats on the new duckling!!!

i've had a few ducks lay the first time and not sit. they'll then have a break and get healthy again to lay again, as stated above. dont stress, they might have been put off by your other birds hatching our ducklings, who really knows, but they will lay again, most of my girls had 3 clutches this season, another has had four with the year!
