Just got in a female Muscovy who was dumped in an urban park, no pond there…?! Probably from a live market as a duckling then people decide to dump... She has frost bite—black edges and grey/black black on her feet. Have a vet appt. today to get some injectable pain med, antibiotics & maybe hydration as she is hardly eating or drinking. I have liquid Carprofen to put on her food. Can put topical triple antibiotic (w no pain med in it) on her, aloe vera. She is a good weight, in a large carrier in my kitchen, on soft towels. Very scared, can stand at present and walk some but sits mostly.I know it is a long recovery and she may lose her feet but I’d like to at try instead of putting her down at the get-go. Gd sends me animals to try to help so it is my karma. Any experienced duck persons who have additional advice? Tikkun Olam (Heal the World) Thank you.

I have never had to deal with frostbite to that extent a few of my Muscovy have had it on their faces and have recovered without any intervention but this sounds serious. I am so thankful you have her and want to help. Hopefully the vet can help too. I'm not sure what is the best for treating right now as far as topical.
Maybe there is something in this that can give you some help. Please let us know what the vet says and how he/she treats.

UPDATE: Lulu saw the vet today. She not only has frostbite but also bumblefoot. She probably had the bumblefoot first then being dumped outside and not able to walk , got frostbite. I asked him to please give her an injection for pain which he did. Doing oral antibioitic 2x daily (Clavamox 250 mg tab) and oral pain meds 2x daily (Rimadyl 25mg 1/4 tab) betadine soak in lukewarm water, dry well then Veterinus derma gel (an anti-bacterial gel that is fantastic at healing birds skin injuries, can be bought OTC on Amazon.) She is on padding and soft towels in a carrier in my kitchen. Getting Mazuri water fowl pellets in water, mealworms, peas and Romaine lettuce. Thankfully she is easy to dose—ground up her meds and mixed with Mulberry juice then drew up concoction in a syringe (no needle) inserted into mouth on top of tongue down her throat. We will see if she makes it. Taking it day by day, hoping she’ll have some feet left. Will keep you posted. Thank you for your support B.Y. Chicks

She sure couldn't have found a better person to care for her. [I know you found her but it was meant to be ❤️ Bless you for taking her in and having her treated.
Keep us updated on her.
Is she warming up at all now that you have had her since Monday?

Lulu has been with me for one week. She is eating well & now consumes her meds in her food, preening herself too. Her r foot is very mangled, torn web, broken toes, her left looks somewhat better. She can shimmy around but can’t walk. Her coloring is much better. No infections, thank goodness thanks to the oral meds and the Veterinus Dermal Gel I smear on her 2x daily. Got some super soft absorbant cotton Turkish towels for her to stay on in a large carrier. She is high maintence & I already have a crippled jumbo male Pekin who is on pillows and towels so doing 2 loads of laundry daily. My elderly Egyptian goose is slowing down and having trouble walking so kind of like a Duck Nursing home here.

Lulu definitely needs surgery, will try to post photo of her feet. Hoping the vet can do it asap. No infection and eating well etc. She will be the poster child for what happens to dumped domestic ducks. Am very angry that people are so thoughtless about their cruelty and that Tractor Supply insists on selling ducklings and chicks.
