As soon as we get our nice large privacy fence built I want to get 6 or so muscovy ducklings. They will be for meat , as they are not truely allowed in my city but by the time they make me get rid of them they will be full grown, though I'm doing it stealth like building a box behind a garden that extends under my deck and out for a sunning area. What age is best to butcher them and how big does the pens have to be? What to feed them to make them good for eating young?

The Feb/March 2010 issue of Backyard Poultry has an excellent article about raising Muscovy ducks for food. Check it out. I figured the increased interest in the Muscovy was probably due to this article. Good luck and remember, always try to have a good time.

It is sad that people will kill such sweet birds.

But that is only my opinion, so don't get all mad at me. I recomend buying Dave Hollereads Story's Guide to Raising Ducks.
