Ok...that makes more sense to me ....
Here's my duck run and hut...
In the winter...I shovel a spot for them to walk around then I put hay/straw down. They have a heated water base for drinking only.No swimming water in the cold weather.

So you already have other breeds of duck in there with no problems? Muscovies are the hardiest ducks I've found--besides maybe the Cayugas...but they lay better and are much quieter than the Cayugas--so I decided to just stick with the 'scovies for now...although I have call ducks in the bator now.
Anyway--your set up looks good...do you get much wind there?

Yep...takes out trees all the time
In the pic the tree in the background was a victim of wind a few weeks ago! I currently have in the run...5 mallards,5 pekins,4 ancona,3 cayugas,2 F&W runners. In the brooder I have my first 2 scovies(hoping for fly control) and 4 Buff Orpingtons
It's NY...very close to the Vermont and Mass borders.
