Mushing

Well now, my day is finally over. I did build 2 dog houses today. Pretty cool looking houses too I might add. Of course all my chores are done as well. Tomorrow I need to brush Bulldozer. His summer fur didn't shed out properly and he's getting a matty little mess at the base of his tail. Wierd, first time I've seen that in my dogs. Never had to brush my dogs till now.
Mind, it has been a wierd summer.
Gtyt all. Touch base 2moro.

I mean G-nyt all.

haha. Griz was part wolf so his howl was deep and long.

Yes, I know what you mean.
Mispoon came from Inuvik . Her mom was was a red Qimmiq and her dad was Arctic Wolf.

Except for her slightly shorter build(legs) and her tail(carried over back then just kinda flopped over to carry on her flank) she was an Arctic Wolf in appearance.
She was such a sweetheart with the kids. She was independent, quietly self-assured, kind of aloof, but loyal, gentle and loving.
She didn't chase animals, not even wild ones, she'd rather plat with them.
She was also a very quiet dog. Never barked. She stood and quietly watched strangers, but we never had a problem with thieves because she had a certain look that people knew not to mess with her.
But !,... at "singing time". She had an amazing voice. Not pitchy and quavering like most huskies, but honest wolf. Beautiful. Even when she was singing a happy song she sounded almost mournful. And when she was fighting she had more of a roar than a bark. (Bitches fight worse than dogs. They're mean.)

The very first time I hitched her I knew she was "the quintessential sled dog". Her pace told the whole story. Just that certain stride/pace told a story of "many many miles to go and I'm gonna make it. So if you ain't gona help get outa the way and...."

Togay I have 1 of her sons, her grandchildren, great grand children, great grt g-kids & great grt grt g-kids.
Her bloodlines are still good singers and good workers but not like she was.

I want more Qimmiq.
