Mushroom foragers

Pics
I forgot to mention when I was digging out the hens yesterday morning, I kicked out 2 wild hens! Grouse, partridge, wild meat!

Next weekend I will get to carry a shotgun and hunt them and the shrooms at the same time. I bet baked grouse covered with wild mushrooms will be a tasty treat.

I also kicked out a couple woodcocks but they are so small and I really do not care for their taste.

I just checked the spore print of the suspected "larch boletes". They are olive brown or brown olive, I think they are the real deal. I am still leery of them. I wish I knew someone that picked and ate them to id these for sure.

I might have to make a plate and hand them out to some unsuspecting soul...

Here are the spore prints from the "larch Boletes". The paper is white typing paper.

I am not sure if you can see the color or not. I tried to make the paper white and see what the spores looked like, but could not do it so he are the unedited pictures. I hope you can see the brown/olive in it.

I need a better camera on my iPhone.

I have/had these growing at the entry point of my drive way. But did not think I wanted yellow ones. I'll start with King ..yet...if I ever find one. LOL. Sky is clearing a bit. I'm running out to that other bog on the 4 wheeler. It's about 3-4 miles from my house...but so cool out there. They did some logging near by so there is quite alot of access 'roads' albeit ruts. Should be a nice evening for a ride though.
