Mushroom foragers

Pics
Hi folks,

I've got a bunch of mushrooms sprouting up on built-up straw on soil behind my roo kennel. Anyone know what they might be? Hoping I don't have to keep ripping them out to prevent hen poisoning....

Sorry, not a wild mushroom hunter so not sure if I'm passing along helpful images....

There are over 4,000 species of mushrooms, so the chances of us knowing what it is slim to none. I can tell you the hollow stalks, gills and color would be enough for me to not touch them.

That said the birds can eat some we can't. Hopefully, they will no the difference.

Thanks Duluthralphie -

OK, I was thinking maybe there was some basic type that favored rice and oat straw as a medium....oh well!

Yes, I had a sense that the sticky yellow caps might not be the best indication. They do seem to be getting lots of little nibbles, though, in non-chicken-like places. I will keep watch.

I have no idea what favors rice and oat straw... One of the first things I learned was even though mice or small critters nibble on a shroom does not make it safe for humans.

I assume a mouse that has a hankering to chew on a poison (to them) shroom removes himself from the gene pool..... Darwin award for mice.

Yes, he's a cream crested legbar. I need to get a new avatar though since I don't have that guy anymore. Maybe my newer CCL boy or one of the silkies.
I was given one like him and JohnBoy was a big sweet rooster, sad day when I lost him, but never knew what he was and his previous owner didn't know what he was either.
