Mushroom foragers

It rained last night and these popped up today.

The last couple years I've been hunting on a very hilly property and I'm still learning the good spots. When I was young my dad and I would always go right along the edge of the bottoms where it was wet and I knew where to find them, around what trees, etc. On this property I find a lot of morels on the points in stands of cedar. These are from the last day of April and we found a little more than 30, but another guy had found over 100 here in the week before this.

Does anyone follow Alexis Nikole Nelson?

I believe pop culture has called her the "black forager". I enjoy her educational videos on TikTok. For those of you foraging for mushrooms, she has several videos about hens in the woods and some other interesting fungi. There are loads of other edible things she discusses too you could forage for while hunting for your shroom friends. I think She just did a video on green pinecones and also jelly roll vs wood ear fungi.
