I have a chicken that started to throw up - which never had happened before... we got through that, but she still has a 'mushy crop'. I have watched a ton of videos on how to vomit them - which I have tried multiple time, but whatever is in there won't come up. She is off feed and has water with some garlic in it. I gave her Monistat in the beginning: 1cc - 2 x a day for 3 days. Still mushy. Now, Ive been been syringing some plain greek yogurt with some probiotics powder mixed in and gently massaging the crop. it's just not moving. How do you dissolve or get rid of this thing without making her vomit? I wouldn't say it is 'impacted' as it not hard. It's mushy. Everything I read seems to be for prevent AFTER sour crop. I did try an elixir (I did it just one time) it has cinnamon, chili powder, ginger powder, and baking soda. It did nothing - maybe I to do it more??? I am at a loss at the moment. Is the crop mushy in the morning with nothing in it? Maybe I am overreacting and the crop feels that way normally ? My chickens have an automatic door so they are in the enclosed pen as soon as the sun rises, so I never felt an empty crop before to compare. Ugh. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Monistat (or miconazole) is the only cure for sour crop. You just didn't do it right. The treatment is two or three times a day for a full seven days. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/

Read my article linked above. If the crop fails to empty by the third day after proper treatment, although the treatment must go on for seven days, then you might suspect a pendulous crop and you might try a crop bra to get the crop to empty.

Under no circumstances should you ever try to make a chicken vomit. There are many, many misleading videos on the internet, and even some here. Unless you want to see your hen die in your hands as you are vomiting her, don't do it.
