Hi there. We have two females and a drake. One female had two babies 10 days ago. We separated the mom and babies in the same coop with chicken wire from the other female and drake. The other female seems overly interested in the babies. She follows them, tries to poke her beak through the chicken wire when the babies get close and the drake as well. I’m worried that they want to hurt the babies. Is this possible?

I never separated mine and they all got along. I'd let them all hang out and see what transpires. You might be surprised.

It’s our first babies and the female mom doesn’t have the best relationship with the other female and drake as they are a bonded pair so I wanted to give her a good chance to care for her babies.

That makes sense. When my ducklings hatched it was by the more dominant female. So, that's most likely why it worked in my situation. They will grow fast enough. The others are probably just curious.

I am assuming there just curious I would definitely maybe watch and see how I goes if you want to have them meet I would guess it would be good even if the went back to the chicken wirw

Yes I just worry how the one female was poking her beak through the chicken wire when the baby got close enough and in an aggressive way. I wonder if she jealous or something?
