With a scream, Wildfire spun and lunged, his front hooves striking at Caleb's shoulder. He'd already been kicked by mares today (night?); he wasn't going to be beaten by some overgrown stud.

"I slept fine. I haven't slept like that in a long time," Tempest said, not looking up from grazing. For the next 11 months, she was on a mission to eat as much as she could, maybe more.

Finally fed up with having to watch the stallions fight, especially in such close proximity to her herd, Parisa charged her way down to Caleb and Wildfire with her head tucked down in a snaking position. She would attempt to chase them off.
