My $1200 egg!!!

Congrats on a beautiful olive egg. As someone said “priceless”. Yesterday we got our first eggs (2 tiny pullet eggs) from Coop #2. Ladies in coop #1 are laying larger eggs now. One or two are laying jumbo eggs every few days. They do not even fit in the carton. We do have a new layer in Coop #1 as she left it on the ground this morning. Her coop sisters will train her.

This is some of what they call Chicken Math. The baby chicks are so cute and cheap until you start building a coop buying food and then toys. In northern climates you then realize you need to spend more to keep water from freezing and the costly modifications to the coop to give them a space to keep the snow and wind from turning them into snow chickens.

You alway remember your first egg!
