My 1st coop - getting ready for the 2nd

That is a beautiful coop, you did a super job. The only thing I would have done differently is make the run "people-height". But its very pretty, I dont blame you one bit for wanting another one. And another....and another....

Should it be "people-height"? I hadn't considered the need to go in there to clean it out. I thought by putting in lots of organic matter everything would become nice compost creating a haven for bugs and worms, and hence, happy chickens.

Very nice, and good looking birds, too I have an idea I haven't put into place to add a chicken wire cage that is fairly big and off the floor in my coops for a hen & chicks...I just fudged and put a medium sized airline dog crate filled w/straw on a shelf and have a heat lamp for chicks to "exercise" in one of the coops but I still plan to do the final idea w/double doors to clean easily.

into a fine piece of furniture,..
Coop is great. show the final results when the 2nd. one is finished.

The second coop will be for four standard OEG's, that I will let free range. I plan to cut the door about 1/3 down from the top to make a door that I can open to let them fly in and out. The lower door will stay closed to keep out my (possibly egg eating) dogs.

Now I'm feeling guilty for planning to use Mahogany for the siding.
