These are my first eggs!! One is green and the other is light brown. Found them in the grass barrel in front of the chicken coop and NOT in the nice nests we built. Now if the others will start laying!!

My RIR's are about 20 weeks old. I just went out and inspected the coop and found n0 eggs. I opened up the two nesting boxes and put golf balls in there, so now they have a place ready when ever their ready.

Congratulations. That one egg looks big for a pullet...maybe a double yoker? [IMG] My girls have just started laying also, so far 3 out of the 14 have given me eggs...that I know of. And from the sounds out on the deck, there might just be a 4th. [IMG]

Mine are almost 7 months old and just starting to lay. I have 4 more that should start laying anytime now. I've only got 6 pullets. I went on vacation and came home to find the dogs had killed 10 chickens and 2 ducks. Broke my heart. Those would follow me all over the yard and let me hold them. Now I'm back at square one. Going to pick up 20 babies today and try this again!

Well I got about a dozen eggs from that hen that was laying the brown eggs before the dog killed her. And all were DOUBLE YOKES!![IMG] I couldn't believe it. But now we are down to just a green egg a day and waiting on the other 4 hens to start laying!

Congratulations! We expect our first eggs in the next week or two. I can't wait.

Got our first egg today! I think our Buff Orp. laid it. Can't be sure. My DS found it, and dropped it.[IMG]
    Oh, well.
